A DONATION TO LADS & DADS

Following a successful evening that welcomed Wales manager, Craig Bellamy, to the club for an engaging Q&A session, we’re proud to announce that a portion of the evening’s ticket sales will be donated to the brilliant Bridgend-based charity, Lads & Dads.

Founded in 2019 by Rob Lester, Lads & Dads was created to support men with their mental wellbeing. The idea was born from Rob’s personal experience after losing his father to pulmonary fibrosis and struggling to access bereavement counselling in a timely manner. Frustrated by long waiting lists and aware of the wider issues surrounding men’s mental health, Rob reached out through local Facebook groups to find others who shared similar challenges. From there, a safe, non-judgemental space was formed—where men could open up, connect, and find support.

Now in its sixth year, the group has grown to over 2,300 members and is led by a dedicated committee of nine. Lads & Dads hosts regular events, sea dips, and open conversations to promote mental resilience and foster meaningful connections within the community.

We chose Lads & Dads as our charity partner for this event in memory of a young fan who sadly passed away earlier this season. As a club, we’re committed to raising awareness and encouraging men to speak out and seek help when it comes to their mental health.

Thanks to the generosity of those who attended, we’re delighted to confirm that a total of £500 was raised and donated to Lads & Dads. We know this contribution will help support the incredible work they continue to do in our community.
