Penybont FC acknowledges that one in four people will suffer with poor mental health each year. Mental health does not discriminate. It is okay not to be okay, however, it is important that those suffering receive help. How players feel as a person and a player is important to the club and we want to use the power of football to help our football community and beyond. The mental and emotional wellbeing of adults and young people is affected by the challenges of competitive support and life in general.

Penybont FC will offer mental health support to all players and coaches whether in the First Team, Under 19 Development Team, Veterans, Academy players or Women's Team. Evidence shows that throughout a player's journey within a team and an academy there are strong possibilities that there will be a need for action support of mental and emotional wellbeing. An action plan for the club has been put in place and will ensure that the club are prepared to appropriately support those within its care both proactively and reactively.

Read our Mental Health Policy.

You should contact our Designated Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead, Amy Thomas, if you have any queries or concerns relating to mental health.
