Penybont FC takes the safeguarding of young and vulnerable people seriously and has produced an Action Plan, in consultation with the Football Association of Wales (FAW), to improve its Safeguarding Policy and Procedures. A six-point plan has been produced, comprising:-

  1. The appointment of a Designated Safeguarding Lead.

  2. The formation of a Safeguarding Working Group to review, support and challenge the Club’s work on Safeguarding.

  3. The development of a Club Statement and Policy for Safeguarding that will be available on our website.

  4. A mapping exercise to understand who in the Club may have regular contact with young and vulnerable people or have influence over the appointment and supervision of such people.

  5. A system of vetting of Directors, Staff, Coaches and Volunteers according to their role and influence over young and vulnerable people, using the government’s Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

  6. Compulsory Safeguarding training for the Board and club personnel in regular contact with young and vulnerable people.
